Well where do I begin? After going through a difficult separation the last thing I wanted to do was deal with the hassle of selling my home, I was blessed with a realtor who was sensitive to this fact when I signed up with Dan Hickey.
Without so much as a second thought Dan made the sale of my home as painless as possible, he and his lovely wife Rose were sensitive to the fact that the kids and I were just through a difficult process. Everything was handled by Dan with diplomacy and tact between me and my ex-husband.
Showings were designed with the least interruption to the family and at times when it wouldn’t cause problems with meal times, homework and Easter. When we did have to go out of the house for showings Dan and Rose made it simple, giving me a gift card for Tim Hortons – easy.
When it came to offers, Dan knew exactly what to accept as a genuine offer and what to dismiss straight away. Being a single Mom he knew exactly what my goals were, what I needed to get out of the sale of the home and he made that his target too.
I can’t put into words how effortless selling my home was, how relaxed Dan made me feel about the process, how successful the sale was within two weeks of listing and how pleasurable it was dealing with Rose and Dan on a personal level. When I first sat with Dan Hickey to discuss selling my house, I was immediately impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and committment to working hard in order to sell my house. He outlined the selling process, strategies that have proven successful, a plan of action and our respective roles. He stressed that he would never pressure me to accept or refuse any offer but would present the positive and negative aspects of every situation, give me his professional opinion and then leave the final decision to me. I then explained my needs, most importantly, my need to have as little stress as possible during this whole process.
The SOLD sign on my house went up 15 days after it went on the market. Dan proved to be a tough negotiator and I accepted an offer close to the listing price. Dan had hired a professional (at his cost) in order to photograph the house and place a virtual tour on the Remax and MLS listings websites, the results of which looked amazing!
